HOW TO DRAW A TULIP FLOWER — Let’s begin!

Step 1: OUTLINE THE FLOWER

Let’s start with the outline of this beautiful flower as our first step in this guide on how to draw a tulip flower!

For this outline, we will be using rather smooth, straight lines.

Using the reference image to guide you on how the outline should look, you can draw a W-like shape with a wider space between both the long slanting lines.

Once you have outlined a tulip flower, we can start to add inner and outer features of it as we proceed forward in this guide.

Step 2:- NOW DRAW THE STEM SEGMENT

Draw a squished half circle from the left lower outer line of the ‘W’ shape to the rightmost lower line of it.

STEP 3:- DRAW THE MIDDLE PETAL

Now draw two straight slightly slanting diagonals longer than the outer one inside the outline of the flower. It should meet both the downside and pointed edges.

After this, join both the upper ends of the diagonals with an irregular and bumpy line as shown in the figure.

STEP 4:- DRAW A SMALL PETAL

From this point onwards, we need to join both the outer lines to the middle ones a little below with irregular and bumpy lines.

Right above the middle part, draw two equidistant straight lines slightly outward-sloping and enclose them with an irregular line.

STEP 5:- AND SOME MORE SIDE PETALS

Repeat the same process as elaborated in step 4, right above both the outer petals. Please refer to the image guide.

 STEP 6:- ELONGATED STEM

The next step is to draw a stem. For this, all we need to draw is an elongated line slightly inward curved from the top, right underneath the half circle.

STEP 7:- NEXT, DRAW SOME LEAVES

Our stem is ready but it’s incomplete without the leaves, right? So, Let’s draw the leaves.

For this section, draw two outwardly enclosed curves wider at the bottom and narrower on the top, adjacent to the right and left sides of the stem.

The right leaf should be drawn a little more upward than the left one.

STEP 8- FINISH OFF YOUR DRAWING WITH SOME COLORS

Now it’s time for the most interesting part which is coloring. We are going to choose some shades of pink and green to give it a well-done look.

Fill up the petals with a pink shade and the stem with green. You may choose other shades of your choice but remember to make it a little like a real one.

And

You have reached the last step of your tulip drawing, and in this one, we shall shade it off with some dark color. Pick up your favorite dark pink color and start shading the middle portion of the petal.

YOUR TULIP DRAWING IS COMPLETE!
